Many students struggle to connect classroom lessons to future career goals. Teacher Externships were designed to provide teachers with a wide range of experience with business and industry to answer the question,
“When will I ever use this?”
ELIGIBILITY
Individuals must meet all of the following criteria to participate:
Registered for Selective Service
Males born after 1965 must meet Military Selective Service registration requirements
Authorized to Work in the US
Individuals must be citizens or noncitizens authorized to work in the United States
Employed in Education
Includes teachers, counselors, CTE coordinators, librarians, and administrators
Reside within the Service Area
Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina and Wilson counties

Why Are We Asking for Sensitive Information?
The Teacher Externship program is primarily funded by federal and state grant funds which have guidelines we must follow to document your eligibility for the program. Any personally identifiable information (PII) you submit to us will be safeguarded in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

Note: The form refers to program participants as "job seekers." For the purposes of Teacher Externship program, the job seeker is the individual applying to participate in the program.

Save a digital copy or take a quality photo of the forms of identification you selected from the Authorization to Work form (i.e., driver's license, social security card).
